Sunset Tourism in the Atlantic Area
ATLANTIC SUNSET brings together researchers from the Atlantic Area (Spain, France, Ireland, Portugal), to contribute to the valorisation of sunset in Western Europe and other phenomena associated with the Sun. The main objective is to promote the sunsets of the European west coast as a tourist resource, contributing to offsetting emigration and diversifying economies, taking into account the carrying capacity and nature of each particular landscape and community.
It was born through the scientific work developed by the physicist Jorge Mira, demonstrating the sun’s sunset at different times of the year.
